Wall Space Gallery is proud to celebrate International Women's Day with the latest body of photographic works by renowned artist Michelle Valberg. Delving into the realm of infrared photography and the surreal worlds it reveals, Valberg will be presenting a selection of scenes captured in Spain, Portugal, Patagonia, Canada's West Coast and Yellowstone.

Now for something completely different.
As a wildlife photographer, I've always been drawn to capturing the natural
world in its raw, authentic beauty. With my Beyond the Spectrum:
Infrared Wavelengths exhibition, I wanted to step outside the familiar,
challenge my own perspective and invite viewers to see the world through a new
lens—literally. Using my Nikon ZF camera, converted to infrared, I’ve explored
how unseen light can transform the landscapes and wildlife I’ve loved
photographing for years.

- Michelle Valberg

From the stunningly beautiful Khutzeymateen Grizzly Bear Sanctuary to the wild coasts of Vancouver Island, the haunting beauty of the Great Bear Rainforest, the raw wilderness of Botswana, the geothermal wonders of Yellowstone, and the rich textures of the Fanal Forest in Portugal, these images transcend the visible spectrum. Infrared photography strips away what we expect to see and reveals hidden layers—turning lush greens into ethereal whites and skies into dark canvases.

Each piece shimmers with an almost surreal vibrancy, amplifying the textures and contrasts that infrared brings to life. This show is about stretching the boundaries of how we perceive nature. It’s a reminder that there’s always more to discover, even in the places we think we know. Beyond the Spectrum is my journey into the unseen, an exploration of light beyond the ordinary, and an invitation for you to see the world in ways you never imagined.
